Academic Regulations

1. Programme and duration

The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) requires at least 120 credits, completed over 3.5 years of full-time study at the College plus one internship semester in a local church or church body. The College admits a new cohort every two years.

2. Credits

One credit equals 16 hours of classes and around 32 hours of self-study (revision, reading, assignments). Each semester students register for courses according to their cohort's study plan; extra or accelerated courses need approval from Academic Affairs.

3. Attendance and spiritual life

• Students must attend at least 80% of the class hours of each course; below that they may not sit the final exam.
• Morning devotions and Wednesday afternoon community worship are part of the programme; students must attend at least 80%.
• Absences for good reason must be requested in advance (or documented within three days).

4. Assessment

A course grade combines coursework (attendance, assignments, mid-term test) and the final exam. Marks are given out of 10 and converted as follows:

• A (4.0): 8.5 – 10
• B+ (3.5): 8.0 – 8.4
• B (3.0): 7.0 – 7.9
• C+ (2.5): 6.5 – 6.9
• C (2.0): 5.5 – 6.4
• D+ (1.5): 5.0 – 5.4
• D (1.0): 4.0 – 4.9
• F (0): below 4.0 — fail

The cumulative grade point average (GPA) is calculated on the 4-point scale, weighted by course credits.

5. Retakes and grade reviews

• A required course graded F must be retaken; an elective may be retaken or replaced by another elective.
• Students may retake a passed course to improve it; the higher grade counts.
• Requests for a grade review go to Academic Affairs within 10 working days of the results being published.

6. Ministry internship

After completing their studies on campus, students spend one semester in a local church or church body under the supervision of the senior pastor. The internship is assessed through the student's report and the supervisor's evaluation.

7. Academic integrity

Plagiarism means presenting someone else's ideas or words as your own. Depending on how serious it is, a student may lose marks, receive a warning or be reported to the Academic Dean. All sources must be cited.

8. Graduation requirements

To graduate with a Bachelor of Theology, students must:

• Complete at least 120 credits (required and elective courses) over 3.5 years of study at the College;
• Complete one internship semester in a local church;
• Settle all financial obligations before the graduation ceremony.
